Month in review: April 2018

There’s a bit of time travel going on here as I’m writing this a little early and scheduling it to post today. As this appears on my blog, my husband and I will be packing ourselves, out stuff and the cat (Silver’s first holiday!) into the car and heading to Ireland to visit family for a week, leaving our home and Rex the axolotl in the capable hands of a friend who is showing work in a gallery near where we live.

Camp NaNoWriMo April 2018 Winner

My biggest news from April was Camp NaNoWriMo. I set a goal of 50 hours work on my current book (which still doesn’t have a title) and I got there with about a week to go. If you want to read posts I’ve written during the last month about Camp NaNo, you can find those here and here.

On the subject of writing, I also moved all my recent fiction work from other platforms to this site, so there are now six free books available to download right here! I set up a page on too, so if you enjoy my work you can buy me a virtual coffee 🙂

This month’s photographic endeavours have mostly involved plants and animals. Spring has actually begun now, after a few false starts and a lot of snow, and I was lucky enough to be able to go for a short walk in the lovely forest near where we live and a drive to Harlaw Reservoir near Balerno.

There might be a bit longer than usual between this post and the next one because I’m aiming to have a real break while we’re away, and that means spending as little time as possible in front of a computer. I’ll probably be sharing some bits and pieces from our holiday on Twitter and Instagram though, so if you haven’t joined me there already, now’s the time ❤
