Go placidly…it is still a beautiful world

These beautiful flowers have been brightening up my home for the last few days. When I took these photos, the poem Desiderata by Max Erhmann lodged itself firmly in my head, specifically the first line and the last line which fit really nicely as titles.

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

You can read the whole thing here, and you definitely should. It’s one of the loveliest things I’ve ever read.

Say something :-)
